First off, the trail to get to the lake is pretty overgrown. Made it pretty difficult for my buddy and I to carry a 10ft aluminum boat to the water. Hard but not impossible.

First time either of us had fished Joy. Lake was calm water was warm. Got on the water a few minutes after 8am and stayed out until noon. We maybe had two hits the entire time, nothing even hooked. We trolled around, cast into the pads, fished off the bottom. Nothing. First time either of us has gotten skunked in a long time.

Thanks for the report, too bad about the skunk. Looks like a nice little lake, maybe doesn't start heating up til later??

Go back and try it again. I did pretty well on Saturday with smallmouths (between 10 and 13") using a rubber worm at the deep end of docks. The lake is still a little cold. Never touched a largemouth which is a bit unusual.
