I'm a bass angler from florida and so I everyone says trout fishing is popular here and it is but i'm from florida and bass fishing is crazy and im not used to this weather either but, i was born in new york...
Back to fishing, so one day i wanted to catch bass and i heared their was bass in beaver lake tryed it nothing i have to admit the fishing for trout is excellent! So I went to pine lake a week later instead and tryed going for larhemouth but then with my polarized glasses i saw a smallmouth under a dock and this ultra clear water i thought i would have to go finesse like a shakey head,drop shot rig or wacky rig. I noticed the small smallies nip the end of your bait go small like a two to four inch bait. I caught 2 that day! Later the next week went to cabelas got smaller baits and used them next to docks and caught 4 and right before heading of the water about 10 ft or so down next to a dock i see a male smallie guarding a nest and i got blown over because the wind was hard and about 65 or so degrees outside and i paddled back upwind and didnt get to close and threw my lure where i thought the nest was and boooooooooom! the female smallie comes out of the dock near and slams my lure and dragging practically under the dock getting me hung up on the poles of the dock finally after and amazing fight like a 6 pound largemouth i lipped him and he was mine i was stunned couldnt believe my eyes. great day of fishing going back today and i didnt even think their was bass that big in their! BEAST!

Pine lake is a great place to bass fish. I used to fish there 5-6 years ago a lot when i owned a smaller boat. I have caught smallies to 5 lbs there, and largies to over 8. Try a carolina rig there with a watermelon / red flake lizard and tell me how you do . . that setup will catch both species. .. also, if you have any walking topwater baits in a trout pattern . .. chug bug, spook, sammy . . . I sand em down and re-paint em to look like trout . .that is a killer bait ALL OVER in this state. . give it a go . . Nice job on the 6 . . .
