It didn't matter what I put in the water today. Had fish on almost as soon as I got my line wet. I caught(catch & release, as usual) fish continuously from the moment I got there to the moment I left. I know that they just stocked North before fathers day. I think that the weather was finally nice enough for them to really feed. I was trolling with various flies, and they were hitting on everything I threw at them. Talked to a few others on boats that were killing it too. We all agreed that it was almost too easy. I was only there for about an hour and a half and lost count around 25. Probably had 35+ to the boat, and many more lost on the way in due to using barbless flies for easy release. I was on the south side, so I put the electric motor into high gear back to the launch, and I was still laying into them. I have never seen fish that would go after something so fast, they must have been really hungry. All the fish were average stockers, 10"-12". Got 2 or 3 that were 13"-14". Also, saw someone with a gas motor on the lake today. I asked him if he knew that gas motors were prohibited. He said that he talked to a "warden" and it's fine as long as the motor is not in the water. It's my understanding that no internal combustion engines means not even installed on the boat. Anybody have any input on this?

great report, thanks! The gentleman with the motor was totally wrong. I see the same problem on Rattlesnake and Star lakes. They can't even be on the boat. It's a water quality law, and not a WDFW law, so it's not surprising the "warden" had it wrong also. It's a county ordinance.

I see motor violations all the time! It's frustrating! On the WDFW website, there is no evidence that this lake has been stocked since April, would it have been done by a private party?

@ Chumknuckle... I did not check the wdfw website to see if they had stocked it or not. I do know that wdfw stocked many, if not most, of the lowland lakes specifically for fathers day. I was out a few times last week and was getting next to nothing. I was killing it by trolling with flies at most of the lakes in the area, but north has been less and less productive over the last few weeks. I even switched it up to pop/dodger gear with a little weight thinking that they were moving deeper, but was having even less luck. I went out on fathers day and even with really windy nasty conditions, the bite was back on. I went from maybe 1 or 2 fish in 3 hours on the lake to 30+ fish in a little over an hour. The only logical solution that I can think of is that they must have recently stocked it. If they didn't stock it, then me and a few others that I talked to got really lucky on conditions. I don't think that I have ever witnessed so many people catching fish with so many different techniques/tackle. Tight lines!
