6/22/2012 10:12:00 PMI agree on leaving the trout in the lake and foget about all th rest . Perch and crappi are good also . large mouth and small mouth bass do alright after ten to fifteen years . carp or suckers and red eye tinch will be back and strong soon. It all depends on how many times the lake floods and the eb and floa of the floods that determans what dies on the flats of sprague and what makes it back to the lake before they die.The game department can not figure this out. Not so many trout left in the lake after the last flood through sprague . most died and some moved up to , well the other spots.....

6/23/2012 11:15:00 AMSprauge used to be a good lake until they killed the spinyray off. And planted trout, All it is , is a larger alpo fish hatchery! I personnaly do not eat dog food!

6/25/2012 12:28:00 PMMy problem is that when they killed off the trout, they did not replant the scuds (fresh water shrimp), the sculpin, the crayfish, etc. If the crappie and bluegill did not take, then what is there for the bass to eat? But then again, it looks like that may not be an issue now either.

6/26/2012 3:34:00 PMI fished it about 10 days ago and found 5 or 6 pairs of LM spawning and saw a dozen or more crusiers. I caught maybe 7 or 8 LM and one was almost 6 pounds. It was a perfect sight fishing type of day. No wind bright sun and no algae bloom at that point. I saw a ton of trout cruising as well. I didn't attemtp to catch them but they were pretty big. I also saw a couple of nets with WDFW marked bouyee's. They both had trout caught in them.
I saw a few pan fish but not many. I had never launched a boat in the lake before and had no expectations but I felt like the fishing was pretty decent. I caught 3 on a frog before I even turned on the big motorand left the launch.The crusing LM I saw were pretty naive and most of them bit something. I didn't catch them all but alost all of them went over and took a swipe at whatever I threw at them. I didn't post a report or pics just because I rarely feel like taking the time.

7/4/2012 10:34:00 PMSounds like the Wildlife Department destroyed a fine fishery at Sprague. It was a particularly notable spiny ray lake ten years ago - tons of bluegill, black crappie, and perch.
