got to the lake 6:10pm. fished on the northside. while waiting for the crappie to boil. mean time while waiting for the crappie i just fish for perch and blue gill around the brush. got lots of perch and blue gills, with crappie jigs catch release no floaters they were all hook on the lip. finally at 8:30 crappie boiling all over the place. i was using 1/32 pumpkin orange mini jig with lil bit of worm on it. every cast crappie on near the log and brush. catch and release lots of 7-8" manage to keep 9 crappie at 9-12" and a nice bass using the crappie jigs. today was a good day at cassidy. water was nice and flat, weather was overcast lil sprinkle rain.

How long was the bass? If the largest crappie is 12" that bass must be around 15"-16"? FYI there is a slot limit on bass. You are allowed to keep fish under 12" and only one fish a day over 17" - not saying your breaking the rules, but it looks fishy...

How do you fish for Crappie with a jig? Do you use a float? or cast and retrieve?

i was tolded a limit on bass is 3 and under 16" and crappie had to be over 9" no limit on perch and blue gill and catfish. the bass i caught was 15. so i was following the rule that i heard from. now i know. yes i was using bobber begining, when they boiling i cast and retrieve.

The lake has special rules for crappie, but all other species are under the states general freshwater rules which has the slot limit for largemouth bass mentioned in post #1. Never rely on word of mouth, pick up a rules book, they are free and widely available anywhere you can purchase your license.

The Game Warden up there will be a lot nicer to you if you turn yourself in, as opposed to someone else on the site doing it! You've clearly dug yourself a hole by admitting to retaining a bass in the slot limit which doesn't sit well with the numerous bass anglers on this site.

Wa lake fisherman, the guy simply made a mistake. Yes I agree on what everyone is saying. The bass isn't one u can keep. Never rely on word of mouth, best thing to do is look in the handbook when in doubt.

Chad, lighten up.
If you were driving 40 mph because you honestly believed it was the speed limit, would you turn yourself in if you passed a sign that said the speed limit was actually 25?

I happen to agree with the last 2 posts. It would be different if he had posted a photo of a dozen 15 inch bass. I think the majority would say it is better to educate, which is what we are trying to do, rather then punish.

chad chad chad, lol!
hurry and go tell the game warden. That was funny. Game warden will look at the one bass that looks to be almost 17inches and give you a slap, they don't hurt, and tell you to read the rules and never rely on word of mouth. Chad, who is at the police station reporting his day of oopses and now yours, treat others as you would want to be treated.
Cassidy make sure you read the regs on what you fish or hunt for, if you don't understand them call WDFW to get the right answer. Making a mistake on one bass or crappie or trout is not to bad, learn and move on.
5 bass a day limit, 12" and under or one 17" and over.
side note: keep the big ones in the lake they help repopulate, carry a camera and eat the small ones
