Hit the weeds on the NE and NW sides for some largemouth bass. Caught 4 with the biggest being about 1 1/2 lbs. Used black/yellow and blue/black spinners. Not alot of size but still fun. Then wife started catching yellow perch in the grass beds when it got hot and the bass quit. On a side comment, do people pulling skiers and tubes along with jet skiers have any respect for those along the side of the lake and in the shallows???

Nice catchin' . I havn't been up to Loon, from the sounds of it if it's busy you can't really escape yeh? Surrounded by houses? That is what makes me drive out to less popular lakes, i get irritated too easily. Skiers and tubers(well the driver) seem to be completely oblivious to the fact that you're trying to stand up in a canoe while Bassin'(in my case). I never see it in their faces but i swear they do it on purpose >.<

Anyhow thanks for posting.

You are one brave soul to fish on a hot weekend! Recommended fishing times are sun up till 10:00 am and 6pm till sunset during the weekend, these are times that I've found to have the least amount of pleasure boaters. Sunday evenings along with weekday evenings seem to be the best, although there are a few pleasure boaters out there they are not the numbers you would find on a hot weekend afternoon. Good luck!
