Armed with the knowledge from yesterday and with multiple things to do in the yard before it got hot. I went to Clear Lake before the sun peaked over the hills. I had the first bite before 6:30am with the last fish in the boat by 7:10am.
I tried the pink splatter combo at first but no bites. So I took it off about 6:30am replacing it with a Dick Nite 50/50 Nickel/Brass Dodger with a Wannafish A Lure Gilded Lilly variance. The other rod had Dick Nite Copper Hot Orange Tractor Tread Dodger followed by a Wannafish A Lure Gilded Lilly. The wire was down 25-30 feet in 45-70 feet of water. One thing about this lake, sometimes the fish like the real maggots over fake and licorice! I also caught my downrigger and line on something else but didn’t loose any gear this time. For someone new coming to this lake there are multiple places in the lake to loose gear on. I think that it is anchors with floating rope.

We are in a battle! Angler against fish! We need an arsenal of weapons and at my site you will find some of those different weapons. For all those who wannafish a lure come in and take a look at WannafishALure.com.

Nice catching!! I have seen your snagging problem on other lakes. Kids/idiots (take your pick) pull the wake limit bouys out into deeper water and let them go. They are very hard to retrieve on a lake with a consistant water level. Sorry that a few ruin it for the many.

One of the snags disappeared this year. A person I know hooked it with his down rigger and he got it up. It was a very nice anchor with some yucky rope. At American, Mike Cary, hooked and brought up a cement block with the rope attached. He cute the rope off. Clear Lake has an amazing amount of stuff in or on the lake. I have pulled in an old rod and reel as well as scooped up a floating rod and reel. Stray boats floating around, gas cans, even vegetables. I think someone lost the groceries for the stew.

I had the same thing happen to me on Angle lake and was able to get that rope and cement block up far enough to grab with my crab pole and bring it back to the dock.. sorry to hear that and thanks for the heads up if I ever make it out your way! Did you mark on the hotspots where those grabs are?

I'm going to have to get down there sometime and fish Clear Lake. I have driven by a number of times but it is always in-route to a different adventure. Toni, you are my kokanee idol! keep up the good work and I always look forward to your posts.
