Cold morning today. Was low to mid 50s when I got on the water. Water temps ranged from 67-70. Bright blue skies.

3 hours of fishing, all I caught were squawfish and perch. I saw millions of baby LMB ranging from 1.5-4". I fished the south, middle and north end of the lake. I just couldn't produce.

So on the way back to the launch, I started trolling to see if I could catch my first fish on it. Got a couple of taps, but they didn't stick. Didn't even get out of my seat to grab the rod, lol.

About an hour into trolling, I get a SOLID hit and I cant get it out of the rod holder!!!! I'm thinking it's going to pop off like the others! After a few seconds of stumbling around with it, I get it out. I still feel the fish!!!! I cut off my trolling motor and start reeling slowly. I can feel the wobble of the dodger, but now can't feel the fish.... I stop reeling and I feel the fish is still on afterall. I get it close and see it's a trout. As I'm grabbing my net, I see it's actually a cutt-throat. A little 15" cutt-throat. My first trolling fish off my back. It was hooked under the neck. So my guess is, it attacked my lure from the side and I got lucky. I was trolling a red wedding ring with a brass blade.

It took me a min to revive it until it swam away by itself.

I was marking some large fish suspended @ 40' in 60' of water, but I couldnt get them to bite. Got a couple more light taps, but that was it for me today.

May head out later this week and just trolling around.
