Went to fish 7:30 this morning. Got out there and caught a good amount of perch and trout on a dropshot rig. Unfourtantlyi was met by another fisherman who launched at 8 am and informed me my truck had a busted window and i was robbed. Went back to the launch to find my passenger window busted: glass everywhere and all important documements stolen as well as a fishin rod and a bunch of tools. Sorry suckers. Rihht in broad daylight. The guy next toe lost 3 spendy bsass rods too. Sorry about spelling: smartphone. Like this lake but dont enjoy being robbed.

Yea it did suck. I was the one who lost the back window of my van and 3 of my favorite rod/reel combos. Went out to the lake for some quality father/daughter time and she ended up seeing just how bad some people can be. Thanks again Nick for letting me borrow the shopvac to help clean up the broken glass.

This time of the year when boat launches are quiet, with far less people around, the bottom feeding thiefs go into high gear. It's a sorry thing to say, but I still find the best policy is if you don't have a good alarm system that can be heard no matter where you are fishing on the water, never leave anything of any value in the vehicle, and leave it unlocked. More than once I've found my glove box open and things scattered around. But no damage and nothing missing. If they're going to steal my vehicle or stereo or whatever that is attached permently inside, a locked door ovbiously isn't going to stop them.

Funny story that happened on Ohop Lake near Eatonville. A retired gentleman and a friend, the first being in our bass club, motored around the corner to see one side of his truck jacked up and two men beginning to strip it. He yelled at them. One yelled back "Mind your own business old man. We're working on our truck." The "old man" pulled out his 45 caliber pistol, jacked one in the chamber and put three rounds into the ground in front of them. They not only immediately evacuated the premises, they left behind a two ton jack and a tool box containing three to four hundred dollars worth of tools. I love endings like that!!!!

sure wish i could catch something like that, maybe i could get my 400.00 of tools back! The pistol will be with me every outing now. and i think i may even proposition some homeowners around the lake to let me park at their homes while fishing, maybe trade some plumbing work. im out for the window, registrations, tools and a new rod. might be best just to buy some beater truck with nothing in it just to fish around here. they even took one boat strap probably it was on top of the tools. oh well, im just suprised it hasn't happened till now i guess. since all the personal info was jacked i changed all the passwords and bank info, the house is well protected and on extra lockdown like to fish this lake but that kinda ruins it for me.
