I sort wanted to chase the bass today, but when I got to the lake and saw all the fog. I didn't want to speed off into it, so I decide to troll for trout. 1st time I've ever used my navigation lights too on the boat. Wasn't sure if they would even work. COLD too. According to my truck, it was 50 degrees at the lake.

Start off with a needlefish. 5 mins into trolling and I get my first fish. 17" cutt-throat. I know the imagine doesn't show it's 17", but the fish wasn't flat when I took the pic. Also, this one has been caught before. I saw a big hole on the corner of it's jaw from an old hook I guess.

I saw a couple ticks as I continued on, but they didn't stick. I'm betting they are perch... Soon afterwards, I did land a perch, lol.

The fog is starting to lift a little bit. I can at least see through under the fog now where there shouldn't be any issues spotting other boats. I boated to a different spot.

Put my line into the water and then lost my rig on something. Maybe a tree. There was also a bad knot too, since it broke with barely any pressure. Was on my uni-uni knot between the leadcore and fluorocarbon. *sigh*

Luckily, I bought 2 of the needlefish, but I only had 1 of the dodger I was using. I have another in a different color that I haven't usedyett, so I guess it's the perfect time to try it.

I mark a bunch of fish hugging the bottom and 30 secs later, BAM fish on. 14" cutt. I make a couple passes through the area but all I got was another perch. It's about 10:30 and I can see some sun breaking through. Half the lake is still in fog though. I continue on and got a couple of solid hits, but they didn't stick. Also so a few ticks, which I assume to be perch. Oh yeah, the perch I caught today were all nice sized ones @ 10".

The fog is pretty much all gone and it's bright blue sunny skies. I am marking fish, but they aren't biting. So I change out the needlefish and decide to use a wedding ring. I let out my lead core and sit down. As I'm sitting down, my rod starts dancing, FISH ON! That was quick, lol. A fiesty little 12-13" cutt.

Put the pole back into the water and 10 mins later, another fish on! 12" cutt.

15 mins later, pole starts dancing again. 12" what I believe is a rainbow. Didn't see any coloration under the jaw.

I keep going and got a few ticks and 1 solid strike. I'm guessing the ticks were perch again. Anyways, on the last hour, I had 6 bites overall. 3 fish on. It was pretty awesome. All small fish, but action was consistent during that hour. I circled halfway a little bit to try for about 45 mins and see if I could get more to bite, but it died down on me. Also, my battery was getting drained down very low, so I called it a day. I think I got 2 more bites, lost 1 halfway to the boat, but it was very small, whatever it was.

On my way back in, spotted a big dead carp floating in the middle of the lake.
