Took a whack at I-82 Pond #4 this afternoon (for the first time), hoping to find some perch, bluegill, or crappie. Had my pontoon boat out, and rather thoroughly search the pond. There were definitely fish registering on the fish finder. They were almost all suspended in 25 feet of water or so. Not sure what they were (crappie? perch?). Regardless, I could not coax them to bite. Tried jigs (tipped with bait and bare), slip bobber rigs with bait, small jigs, and both). Nothing worked.

After about 2 1/2 hours, I decided to try Pond #6 (which has been very productive for me this year). Same thing as Pond #4 - intermittent schools of fish suspended, but nothing seemed to work. One bite on a Swedish pimple jig tipped with worm, but other than that, nothing at all.

At least it was a nice day to be on the water - little wind, not overly cold. Good fishing day, but bad catching day.
