Fished stevens for a few hours last night. launched about 4pm and fired up the motor and left the sounder off (whoops) and headed out to the drop off outside the cove where the fish USUALLY stack up, but i did notice one flip inside the cove. So trolled around till dark with one drive by and one small kokanee to the boat. I could not find the fish anywere, didnt see any jumping, water maggots were out ripping around. Water temp was 49*

So i button everything up and scoot back into the cove and the thing is BOILING!! kokanee getting air born everywhere. look at my lowrance and the water temp inside the cove is....... 54.3*!! this is not an april fools joke. with the way the wind blows and the warmer weather the cove must be the first thing to warm up and the kokes are in there just being happy happy happy. so flat lining 2 rods for the 10 minutes of daylight i had left i managed to get one fish to the boat and miss two more. All hits were on a Custom KokaneeKid Fishing wedding ring and a pink splatter back Dick-nite dodger with pro-cure kokanee korn magic shoepeg scented with pro-cure Garlic-plus. Tried other set ups but that was the only one the seen some action.

Now with that cove being 15-30' deep (most of the lake is 50-150') that was the last place I would think that kokanee would be stacked up. But they chase their favortie water temp and it was 5* warmer in that part of the lake. i seen 4 different schools of fish jumping around. pretty exciting! I give it 2 maybe 3 weeks and this lake is gonna be hot! Remember if you fish weekends and its gonna be nice to get out early and get your fishing in before the boaters take to the water. kokanee hate jetskis and it makes them go deep. The other shallow parts of that lake that might be hott is the south end that is pretty shallow and warms up quick and the nw corner flats, even though i fished both yesterday and couldnt find fish.

Fish on and tight lines

Great report, Thanks!
We took an Easter afternoon picnic out on Lake Stevens, I trolled around for a couple of hours, I could not find then until we got close to going in, but could not get them to take anything.
We saw a couple schools on the east side jumping all over, looked to be nice fish. The first was directly east of Purple Penant Point in about 70' of water, and then again down the east side working south.
Hopefully it warms up soon and we have a year like two years ago!
