Went out before work this evening and had no luck. Tossed shallow and deep with only one bite on a buzz bait early in the morning. Arnie where and the heck are the fish?? This is the second time out there and the second skunk! Anyways water temps started around 52 and got as high as 55 went I got off the lake at 3. Oh and best yet I gave everyone at the dock a great show...the boat drifted a little from the dock and when I stepped out to tie the boat off and get the vehicle I totally slipped and went for a swim. So left with no fish and soaked haha good times!

So, is that the proper way to get the water temp? Hmmm

lol...I do not know where the fish are. Around Easter they were shallow and you could see groups of fish cruising in 5 to 8 feet of water but I am struggling now. I caught that 3.5 lb. smallie the other night in a place I had never tried before way out on one of the shallow flats and before that I was skunked twice in a row and before that it was pretty much just a fish or two per trip mostly around docks near the south end of the lake. Funny lake, I oft times wonder if there are very many fish in it at all and then bam, a 5 or 6 fish day. I think that is largemouth fishing in Western Washington, really:) I, also, think a lot of fish get taken and eaten from this lake. Good place to get lucky and catch a pig but also tough fishing, for the most part.

Amx I thought it would be the best to get a real feel for the lake. Arnie well it's good to know I am not the only one getting my butt kicked out there haha. Well hopefully this coming week of nicer weather will get some of these fish moving back shallow again. Well good luck out there and maybe see you around one of these times.
