Took the afternoon off for a much needed break from work and took my family (Wife and 3 and 7 yo daughters) for the first fishing trip of the season. We launched at Pine around 2pm. Sunny with a slight breeze. A few boats on the water and the fishing pier looked to be at about half capacity. Didn't see a lot being caught though. Got lines in the water and immediately started getting hits. The action wasn't constant, but it was consistent. My wife boated the first fish and then it was just a fun rotation of poles, fish, lines and laughs. Three lines between my three girls was more than enough to handle and sometimes we'd just run two, but it was plenty with many laughs as daddy was trying to manage steering, netting fish, and keeping lines untangled. My 3yo not only caught her first fish ever, but managed to catch more fish than anyone else. I've decided that I'll be using her Barbie pole for winter Steelhead next year as that seems to be the lucky one. We fished for two hours and boated 19 fish. Released three of those that were lip hooked and on the small side. We probably hooked and lost just as many as were landed. Although we caught fish on all offerings presented, the most consistent producer was a small green spoon and the second best was a jointed Rapala trolled just fast enough to produce action. Fish were all standard stocker size, 8-12".
