Up early for an old guy (4:30) and launching my small boat at Bay Lake by about 5:30. Only 1 trout angler fishing from the shoreline as I arrived. He already had 2 trout - And, had finished his limit before I even got on the water. Another trout angler showed up - took the same spot and had his limit in about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, I am now on the water and make my very first cast with a Rapala 11S. Bam! - a nice 11 incher in the boat. It would be my last bass strike for the next 5 hours. I did, however, catch a nice perch on that same Rapala later.
It became way too windy for me to bass fish effectively from my boat. At the south end of the lake big rollers were rolling down the lake - a few with small white caps on some of them.
After seeing the success of the trout anglers, I found a small red hotshot in my tackle box and tied it on. I trolled across the lake with no weight added to get out of the most wind and caught a limit of trout.
Bass Dude (Jerry) showed up a couple hours after I had launched. That man is absolutely amazing fishing from a float tube. Even the high winds didn't seem to faze him. When I left he had caught 3 bass.
A game warden arrived just as I beached my boat. He was nice and friendly after he had checked my catch and license and found out I did indeed have a life jacket aboard. He was checking for every thing including life jackests.
The weather was warm and sunny - but as mentioned it was too windy.

Was great seeing you Bob. Right after you motored away, I broke off a huge fish. Wrapped me around a dock piling. Ended up catching 3 more...another pound plus, 3 1/2 and a 4 1/2. Was a great day despite the wind.

Yes Jerry, it was a nice day even with the winds. Congrats on catching 6 fish in that wind - and a couple of them real dandies.
