We fished Deep Lake late evening after dinner. We trolled Flat Fish and Hot Shots on leaded line with fly rods without success. We saw a couple fingerlings jumping near the south end and we did catch one of those. This lake offered a lovely boat launch with dock, in spite of what we'd read elsewhere to the contrary. We had the lake to ourselves and the evening was spectacular in spite of the lack of fish. Shear cliffs rising right up out of the lake. Situated in a narrow canyon, this lake felt more like a river. Cliff swallows by the hundreds, waterfowl too, then on the drive back we saw Mule deer, Quail, Herons, and Red Tailed hawks.
