I've fished quite a bit but haven't posted any reports in a while so I figured that I'd share about my most recent adventure.

I got off work around 7:30 and decided that I would try to see if I could catch the evening/night time bite on Lake Union. I started off throwing crankbaits to see if I could get a smallie to bite but no luck there. I then went with old faithful, the drop shot. Within the first 30 seconds minutes I had caught 2 decent sized rock bass. About 10 minutes later I caught a dink smallmouth. This had me pretty excited since these were my first of each species caught on Lake Union this year (haven't fished it much).

Then I got to watch the sunset which was absolutely gorgeous! Once the sun went down, the bite was on. I caught over a dozen big rock bass all pushing 8". I then caught a monster rock bass that had me convinced it was a smallmouth by the way it was fighting! I brought it in and decided to weigh it. This rock bass came in at 14 oz! Just 2 oz shy of a lb!

On the very next cast I hooked into a decent smallie and it put up a huge fight! As usual, smallies fight so hard that they are very deceiving when you are trying to figure out how big they are. This one came in at 1 lb 7 oz. It was a somewhat long but skinny fish.

I'm glad that Washington is FINALLY starting to get some nice weather! Get out there and have some fun!
