Went to Lake Tapps this morning and had a great time. I caught 7 SMB on Crankbaits, 5 SMB on Drop Shot, and 11 SMB on a Carolina Rig. Most fish in 14 to 18 ft of water. Water temp was 72 degrees. Fishing was steady. Fish havew moved out near summer patterns. Most fish were caught on outside weed lines. The Crankbait Bite was early for about first hour and a half. I tried topwater to no avail.

Left the lake at Noon and it was a zoo out there from the jetskiers and ski boats. The County was there also doing safety checks on each boat and holding up launching and recvovering.

Glad we are by the transition period after the spawn. Back to dragging the Carolina Rig again.

Ok, what's your secret? I went there and pounded docks and also fished a couple points with a Carolina rigged craw, and nodda :( where were you fishing? Help!

How deep we're you running your crankbait?

was using the Xtrike King 3XD which runs about 10 to 11 ft deep depending upon which line you ar eusing.

Also pounding docks this time of year is pretty useless. You have got to fish the points and humps.

FYI - I was at Tapps from 6-10AM on Saturday. Basically same report from me. Only caught a couple under docks. Hammered them fishing humps in about 12' deep water casting away from shore towards deeper water.

Any ideas where I can start?

I've had little luck finding the Largemouth and Smallmouth in tapps as well. I've tried fishing the shoreline to no avail as well. The few smallies I've caught were caught deep. I rarely stray that far from Allen Yorke Park's launch, which is probably my first mistake. Any help would be appreciated.
