Squatch and I hit a new lake this morning... got there a little after 6 am... launched and motored across and started with top water... not much happened.... couple of hits on a frog but no solid hookup's... next we fired up the big motor and motored around a little watch the fishifinder... stopped to fish some docks that reached out to a littlle deeper water...nothing... turned around and started tossing around the swim platforms and Bam... caught 4 fish within 15 minutes... smallmouth and largemouth... biggest about 2.5 lbs... the strangest was the grandpa of the lake, weighed 2.25lbs, blind in one eye, bottom of tailfin wore down, and gill plates where crusty...

So we continued fishing the docks, and kept hitting the swim platforms as we went... hooked into a couple more nice ones but they spit the hook... ended the day @ 11am due to someone coming to look at hotrod i have for sale...

fish were caught different ways... dropshot with roboworms... carolina rigged grubs... crankbait...senko's texas rigged and wacky rigged...

I had to get home and watch the Little League World Series. Went today as usual and only caught 6 small ones. Soft bites today.

Had to check my notes;

Started at 3:54 am, left at 7:20. :-)

9 fish, 6 Largies, biggest at 1 pound or so. Crankbait, dropshot.

Dear Lord, I love catching smallmouth, but that one only lacks a third eye and glowing in the dark from being a victim of a nuclear reactor accident.
