Finally had a breakthrough day! (A lot of thanks go out to Rickydbasser)
Started fishing about noon and things were slow as I trolled with a curly tail grub about 20-24 ft deep. I switched to a watermelon dream shot senko and started hiking a couple dinks. I moved out to about 24-28 ft and hooked the biggest fish(of my short bassing career). I stayed at that depth and ended up hooking 12.

I stayed off the west side of the driftwood point park the whole time.

Congrats. Good info always helps, even if it doesn't help the first day or 2 or 3, it'll help overall and down the line, remember everything that others tell you, if at all possible. :<)

Congrats! Glad to have been some help. Once the art of dragging deep water is refined, then its just a matter of learning the different locations on the lake where the smallies hang out. Like I said before, the summer and fall are my favorite times to fish Tapps. The smallmouth school up at pretty predictable depths of around 20 to 25 feet, making them far easier to find and catch than when they are shallow and scattered in the spring. As you learned, sometimes they're a little shallower, sometimes deeper. Anyway, obviously your getting the hang of it.
