Needed a quick getaway so I convinced the wife to join me on my first trip to the potholes. We arrived mid day on Friday hit the water by 1pm, caught a few very small walleye and a few nice perch. I was not impressed with a place that I have wanted to fish for years.

Day two after speaking with a few guys who did well I went to the on site store and got a few spinners and bottom boucers and headed to crab creek. Immediately we started scoring on very nice perch in about 20ft of water. As we slow trolled at less than 1 mph I let the boat wander into 6ft of water and the first keeper walleye was in the boat. We stayed between 6-18f feet of water and quickly limited out on eater Walleye. We also caught some of the biggest perch I have caught since I left Ontario Canada and moved to WA. My wife caught a few very nice LMB she loves to eat them but she put them all back but one, very proud of her.

Anyway all in all we left with a few good perch and walleye in the cooler and will have a nice fish fry tomorrow. Looking forward to next time on the potholes.

Good report and thanks for sharing. Just a note though as there seems to be a lot of confusion about the bass bag limits:
The daily bag limit here is one "nice" bass over 17 inches and all others are under 12 inches or 5 under 12. So we are all proud your wife didn't break the law unless you meant nice bass in Canada are under 12 inches?

Thanks for the feedback, It was a legal fish. I keep a copy of the state regs in my boat and a digital copy on my phone. Thanks again.
