Awesome day of fishing. The hardest part was catching fish that were smaller than 14 inches. I was jigging for them in shallow wateranywhere from 2-5 feet deep with a pink jig and either worms or maggots. Average size fish i caught was 20 inches. The hits were dead at noon but only for an hour then they picked up again arty 1.

Nice to see some good trout being caught! I'm going to have to get some trout gear ready!

Those are some pretty cutthroat trout. I don't have the regs... but are native West Slope cutthroat supposed to be kept? Anyway, nice fish. It's weird to hear they were in 2-5 feet of water... or did you mean you were in deep water and they were suspended in 2-5 ft of water?

@ Steelhead6438: There are no Cutthroat Trout in Fourth of July Lake. The photos above are of Rainbow Trout, of which you can keep only two over 14" long.

I was fishing in shallow waters. Deeper water doesnt produce as many big fish like the shallower water does.
