Arrived around 0900 and fished from shore using power bait Yellow, green and brown (hatchery) formula.
After 2 and a half hours and not even a nibble another angler arrived and I walked over to talk to him and wouldn't you know it I got a bite and had to run back to my pole. By the time I got back to my rod he had spit the hook. After another hour I gave up and went home. One boat with 2 guys on the water but I didn't see them catch anything either.

I always seemed to find a bite around 11:30 am until around 1:00 pm.If they won't touch powerbait try inflating a nightcrawler with a hypodermic or a worm pump.I've caught fish that way when they wouldn't touch anything else.

As sunfighter said, worms work well when the Power bait bite is off, and there's normally a good bite around 11:30. This winter though, it seems like the fish have only been biting early, with the bite dying off around noon. I've also learned that during the winter the fish in Leland really like Power Eggs.
Gotta say, it has been pretty slow this winter at Leland though. A buddy of mine and I were out there a few weeks ago, fished for 6 hours and I only pulled out 4 fish(they were fairly large though), and missed a few others. Only saw one other fish landed that day. Maybe they're just too lethargic right now due to the cold weather we had last month. I'm sure the Cormorants don't help either.
