The 2014 skunk is dead! Hit Terrell this morning and was welcomed with rain wind and whitecaps. Started along the road but quickly decided to go fish the wind blown side of the lake. Spent 3 hours rotating techniques and depths until I finally had a blow up but he missed cleanly. Gave me a depth to keep in mind however so I continued on. Had another blow up in similar conditions and again a clean miss. I switched some of my other rigs over to a similar color as the frog and began flipping similar depths and quickly had the first one in the boat (a month overdue but I'll take it). Didn't go much further and got one a little larger on the same rig! Tried a few other similar places and didn't have any further action. Finally left about 5pm.

Bass were on the windy side of the lake in 2-3' of water on the outside edge of the reeds. The frog bass were in newly emergent lily pads and I was retrieving the bait just fast enough to keep it on the surface.

That's great. I barely did away with an April skunk on April 1st with a little 1.5 fishie. Skunked since then. Did fine in March tho.

Frog blow ups already! That's awesome. I was out there as well and found the pattern to be similar to what you described except that I never thought to try the frog. There is a tournament there April 27th put on by pond jumperz. Check out their website for details everyone it should be a good one.

Nice job at Lake Terrell.. One day back about 1963 I once caught a big bass on a night crawler in a small lake near the Nooksack River next to the railroad tracks just off the road( Slater Rd. I think) that takes off I-5 heading to Lummi Island. I don't even know if it has a name. I think it might have been a gravel pit at one time. I don't even know if it has fish in it anymore. But that might be a possibility for some nice bass.
