So, we went to twin lakes for our traditional fishing season kick off. we fished from Friday the 11th thru the 15th. fishing was hot then cold then hot again. we caught a lot more brook trout than usual, biggest was around a pound and a half, 16 inches or so. the big fish were all rainbows, some male some female. all were caught trolling on lead core line at 2 colors or less. flies were the big producer, followed by a needlefish that we never tried before. the flies aren't those monstrosities that you see around, more like a steelhead streamer. but like always, a fun kickoff weekend.

Sounds like a great time with some nice trout. What do you suppose the reason their tails seem to be chewed off tho?

the fish with the rounded tails are stockers, i'm told its from rubbing on the nets as they are reared. did get one of those microchip things out of one too. oh and i forgot, their weights, from left to right... 6lb 8oz, 4lb 2oz, 3lb 12oz. and yup on the colville reservation, the south lake.
