What a trip! Headed out Thursday PM for the Washington Lakes get together and camp out. Stayed in Wenatchee at the Walmart parking lot camp area; beautiful and lots of pavement to park on! Up early and drove to Chelan finally finding a place to get breakfast and some well needed coffee. Went to check in at the lake Chelan RV Park and discovered my outfit would not fit in the space so rented a second one side by side to make it work. The good part is we ended up next to fish dawg and his daughter the fish princess. We had a great time with them; thanks so much for being our "neighbors for a few days! Randy (rseas) and his family were a couple of sites down and got to meet them too. One more was inbetween and for the life of me I can't remember the name (old age?)

Put the boat in at the downtown launch next to the motel and had to go across the sand to the water as the lake water level was low. Started with kokanee gear and the famous trout leaded line outfit at three colors with a Perch Kekeda fly at three colors (12' to 14') deep. Hooked up a really nice kokanee and lost him at the net; rats! Then the Kekeda fly rod went off.....fish on! Wow this is not a kokanee; turns out it was a Mack truck on lite gear.....yahoo!! Netted the fish and would guess between 4 and 5 pounds.

Put the Kekeda fly out again and went back through the same area and I'll be if it didn't happen again and we had the second Mac in the boat. Then the wind came up so we decided to go back in, what a challenge it was getting the boat back on the trailer with high winds quartering in. Ended up wading in too my chest, wow that water is cold, to get the boat back on the trailer. took some waves over the back in the process so pulled the plug and drained the water out of the boat. Back to camp for some dry clothes and off to Wally World for some new dry sneakers.

Sat up till late talking with fish dawg while he prepared for the fishing Saturday. 4:30 AM came EARLY! Cooked up some breakfast and off we went with high hopes for the day.......to be continued
