5/8/2014 12:45:00 PMPikeminnow, no peamouth. I caught a whole cooler full of peamouth chub near Vernita thinking they were pikeminnows. Every time my buddy and I threw one in the fish box, we hollered "MO' MONEY!!" When we went to the rest area at Vernita to collect our bounty, guy asked how we did. Said we slayed, probably $500 worth of them on worms. Asked us if we were sure they were not peamouth, which apparently love worms. Went and looked and every one of them was a peamouth. Motored across the river, trimmed motor up, put in reverse, tossed fish at the prop and made sturgeon food! Worst part of it was the peamouth eat little black snails so there were black fish droppings all over the place. Many moons ago but still have peamouth nightmares!

5/9/2014 12:34:00 AMLooks like a squawfish to me.... but what the hell. As long as it is dead, it's a good thing. There are both peamouth chub and squawfish in the lake. Definitely not a pea mouth chub though. The phrase "pea mouth" is a good indicator of what the mouth should look like. This fish's mouth is not round like a pea. It is "squawfish" like. Lol.
