Hit Banks 5/10 and 5/11
Sat we started fishing about 7am.
Lake nearly dead calm, and though out the day very light, great day wind wise on banks.
We started hooking up with small mouth right away casting plugs.
My brother and I made 5 wagers, $2.00 each.
1st fish
Most fish
Biggest bass
Biggest Trout
Biggest Walleye.
I'm proud to say I won them all. My brother is a great sport and caught a lot of fish. When he saw I was getting a commanding lead in over all count after securing 1st fish and landing a 18" small mouth he switched to a roostertail spinner, casting as I was. He nailed a nice 17' bow, once that fish was released, my very next cast a nice 19' bow. His changing it up to the spinner helped him catch up in over all count as I continued for bass and he landed many decent to small bows and a few small bass with the spinner.
we then changed gears and bounced the bottom for walleye, drifting in the strongest wind of the day.
Sadly for my brother he did not land any eyes, I caught 7 all undersized. ;(
I then caught a 12' perch, and he landed a couple of small mouth on the worm and bouncer.

We left very happy with the bass action and the rainbows ( all released ) disappointed we could not figure out how to catch a decent walleye.

We came off the water about 7pm. long day but honestly a great day. I will try to embed some pics.. Not sure if this page works via html.

Saw a nice bald eagle and a health chucker and merganser. Along with a number of ducks and geese with the 1st goslings of the year.

Things got real exciting on my drive home.

About 10 miles west of Leavenworth I stopped to try and find some morels to compliment the few fish I kept for dinner tonight.
I was at 2000 feet walking though lots of ground cover and timber. next to a very loud creek. Luckily my hearing is good, because I came upon a 3 foot rattler. 13 button tail. Cranky I got within 2 feet of it poised to strike. Luckily when I heard the odd noise i back tracked. Not knowing what it was.

Fishing with my brother sat I told him I was hoping to find a snake this fall while bow hunting as I wanted to cook one.
Funny my wish came the next day, today Sunday.
Skinned gutted and cleaned. We will see how it taste tomorrow.

So beware mushroomers hikers etc in the Leavenworth area. Did not know they inhabited that area.
