Finally got back out on the lake and put in more fishing time. Right when I got to the launch this morning and started heading out, I saw thousands of fingerlings jumping all along the lilly pads to the south side of the launch. I went to investigate. Not sure what they are actually. But there does appear to be some trout fingerlings in the mix. They look just like the trout pattern on rapala lures....

Anyways, tried a topwater walking lure just to see. Nada. Then casted a swimbait along the mix and got a strike really quickly. But it was just a squawfish that popped off at boat side. Tried for about 15 more mins and didn't get anything else. Lots of bait out there.

Didn't take long to actually catch my first SMB, but it was a dink. ~10" or so. Off an end of a dock in about 5' of water, with a swimbait.

Water was very calm today, at least in the morning. A little breeze at about noon time though.

Anyways, switched to a weightless worm and started skipping it under docks due to the sun. That was the ticket. Lots of bites. Lost a ~2#. Caught a few more dinks. Biggest was ~14-15" @ 1lb 12oz.

I lost a lot of worms today. Those small fishies kept sucking up my worm and when I set the hook, all I have the o-ring. I even let them swim off with it to what feels like forever. Lift up and I feel the weight of the fish too and they don't feel like dinks, but from the way they steal my worms, they must be. When the wind did pick up, I used a "flicking" jighead for some weight. Fish seemed to respond well to it, but that's when I lost the majority of my worms.

Tried a tube for a while and not a single bite. But did have another ~2# chase it as I was hopping it. It was on a bed. Just looked at it and turned again. Threw a swimbait by it and same thing. Tried senko. Followed it, but didn't do anything.
