Took the kids out for some fast action trout fishing. We went the week before with the same results and the kids have been begging to do it again. Waited till evening. Hit the water about 5:30 which was still a little early. Trolling wedding rings green and red tipped with power bait. Once the sun goes behind the trees the fish come up and start busting the surface and the action is nonstop after that. Trolling kinda fast about 1.8 mph in the north end of the lake. I lost count of how many the kids caught and released but the wife said she counted 27 all I know is I was so busy releasing fish and resetting lines I could hardly keep up. Several double hookups and sometimes the fish would hit before the line was all the way out. Noticed a few boats start crowding in on us and following our trolling routs. Hope they caught some too the lake is full of nice 12 in. Fish with some really nice 14+ Mixed in. I'm sure the kids will be asking to go again really soon. About as exciting as the fishing was watching the eagles and osprey fishing too and following the otter as it swam the shoreline.
