Headed out to Sammamish. Couldn't sleep all night. Then happen to doze off for about 30 mins, then woke up to go fishing....

Tube, old swimbait, old dropshot, crank and t-rig worm.
First cast at about 8:40AM. Started off with a swimbait. Mostly sunny, slight breeze. A few casts in and I get it caught in a rope in the water that I didn't see. DOH! Managed to salvage my hook, but not the lure.

Put on my trusty swimbait and cast it at the edge of a dock. Letting it sink and I see my line jump. I reel in the slack and set hook. Fish on! That was quick. 15" SMB. Didn't bother to weigh it. Guessing 1-3/4 lb.

2 docks down, I make a cast that went just underneath the dock and started to let it fall too. Again, I see my line jump and set the hook. BAM! FISH ON! And this feels like a really good one. It's digging down and pulling drag. Thought maybe it was a LMB. I pull it back and it quickly flashes and I see it's a nice SMB. My lure is all the way up it's mouth, didn't even see it. It was quite the battle and I scoop it into the next. 18" @ 3lb 2 oz. Cast was in at about 8' of water.

So 2 fish in a 5 min span. By now, only been fishing for about 15 mins. I'm feeling pumped up. I try the same pattern with the same lure. Guess what, that's the ticket this morning.

From 8:50-10AM, I had a flurry of SMB action. One of the SMB coughed up something. Same exact size. I think I landed 12-15 SMB during that period. The majority of the lures were gobbled up. They wanted it.

Half were 13" or smaller. But the other half were 15"+. The biggest is the 18". I had 1 that hit 17", but was skinny @ 2lb 8oz.

Had a few awesome strikes. I was making multiple casts at this one dock and it just looked fishy, but I couldn't get a bite from it. Well, I angled myself and cast right over the submerged boat lift. Swam the lure right down the middle and high between the 2 bunks and I see a SMB swim up and snatch it as it goes right in the center of the lift. Might as well have been a top water strike.

I had another casts in about 4' of water right next to a dock piling. I see a shadow come out from much shallower, maybe 2' or less and starts heading towards my swimbait. I did a quick retrieve and killed it. BAM! Got that SMB to react and fish on!

I was in a little bit deeper water next to a point. Maybe standing in 10' and casting into 14'. I had my lure all the way at the boat side and was just about to lift it out of the water when all of a sudden, a SMB swims up front beneath and snags it in front of me. Was pretty sweet. I didn't think I had the best hookset on that, but got it into the net.

I lost 3 SMB ranging from 14-16" near the boat too. Not sure how that happened. 2 looked like they were hooked well too, oh wells.

Here's what I noticed. During that flurry period, I didn't get a single nip/strike from a small fish(perch). Didn't see any follows or anything. It was either a nice SMB or nothing.

As the morning progressed, by about 10AM, I started to get the nips from the perch and less SMB action. Only had 3 hookups after 10AM. One was a nice football SMB, 15" @ 2lb 4oz. Lost 2 about the same size.

I quit fishing by 1130AM. High sun and didn't see the SMB were biting anymore for me.
1st pic is of 1st fish. 2nd pic is of biggest fish for the day. 3rd pic is of a crane that kept following me for about 45 mins. I guess it was hoping for a floater.
