I got out on Sammamish around 5:30 and dropped the boat in at the launch. While I was pulling in I saw another boat nearby. I asked how he was doing and he said that it ha been kind of slow. After that I headed out and had a mediocre day. I caught some good-sized perch on a simple worm and was also able to catch two small smallmouth bass. I had one 2 or 3 pounder on the line, but it got away at the boat. This all happened in the first hour or so of fishing. As we got into the evening, I thought the fishing would heat up after a hot day, but it seemed to slow down even more and I wasn't able to snag any more fish. I pulled out around 9:00 and finished the day with 2 small bass and 8 perch.
