Alrightly,

Get out early...... earlier than 6:30 with gear dropped and trolling. People beat me here and were already fishing and probably close to limit if not targeting something im not. 4th of July at 4:30am specificalty I will be trolling my usual area around the top of the "Antler Hotel". I really wish i could find the exact location but with the knowledge of my new structure scan i will figure it out eventually. Would love to see you out here!

I went out and caught a limits worth testing my new lowrance hds5 w/structure scan which is has been on sale at sportco and worth it. But it takes time and thats what i was working on while trying to watch my rod out of the corner of my eye. Thinking Chinook? sure enough I caught another shaker struck popping my rod out of the release.

{TIP}The lighter you can make your release.... make it lighter. Otherwise your missing/loosing kokes i guarantee.

Took the wife and 3 kids, 9mo-3yr-4yr olds out and had a blast cruising around then sent the ball down with no hook ups. my 3yr old son is a master zig-zagger at the helm usually and hooks us into fish but not today. the 4yr old had her fun jumping up and down. The wife and lil one just enjoyed doing something besides sitting at the campsite. I will tell you that unless your determined and know what your doing dont waste your time in the middle of the day fishing this lake. Go tube, swim(its cold) or go on a hike or hit the lower lake(Kokanee) which is full of hungry oversized pan trout.... usually get these by kayak. Momma Bald Eagle is always watching...so much fun.

Mornings and evenings are good for most anglers. I can catch fish mid day with jet skis and boats running "amuck" which isnt nearly as bad as most lakes i've been to. Just like lake meridian i can troll anytime of the day and get my limit. its a matter of finding the fish and finding out what is going to provoke a strike. picture attached is my go-to tools and i've swayed some but always come back. Tight lines.

p.s. if you read this and have questions PM me or respond. if your a forum troller go hook your lip elsewhere. Im here to help and share my limited knowledge. Take your kids fishing!!! :)

I fish those same hot spots, but I like to start from the far left northern bank and troll east at about .9 MPH. I troll at 30-50 feet with the down rigger and it works great for me.
