We camped at Mossy Rock State Park and had plans on motoring over to the East side of the lake and fish near the bridge, but someone stole the kicker motor off the big boat so we had to take the little boat out. So we fished directly across the lake from the park just east of the Dam. Trolled back and forth in the little cove in front of the concrete structure at 30' deep with a down rigger. Watermelon dodger with a bronze flasher and orange bead Wedding Ring. Bahama Mama dodger with bronze flasher and red bead Wedding Ring. Troll between .8-1.6 MPH, we had a 6.6 HP motor that was pushing us too fast so we through out TWO drift socks and had us at the perfect speed.

I know this will start a dispute... Kokanee/Land Locked Coho...

They are the exact same thing, Kokanee are Coho's that never touched salt water. So you should be happy, EVERYONE IS RIGHT! :)

It's not a dispute , you are just wrong. Plain and simple. Point out something real ( you know, out of a book or something. Like the guy above did) to back up your "opinion". Saying you are right (and everyone else who disagrees with you and has it correct is also right?!?! That is some crazy lack of sensibilities!) doesn't make it so. Perhaps in an imaginary world far, far, away.I am sorry about your kicker motor being stolen, though. If you are trolling for an argument you are in the right forum. Most of us troll in one way or another, I guess.Bob R

kokanee are landlocked sockeye, what you have are landlocked coho. there is a difference

im no expert on the matter, ive never caught either one, (only anadromous coho) but i do know you are wrong, and find it ridiculous that you would write such a thing with out first doing some research first.

Sorry to hear about your kicker. If you meant the bridge at the east end of the lake I hope you're aware of Taidnapum Park, which would put you a hundred yards away from the bridge, instead of the miles it appears you were going to go. It might also be possible that your camping at MossyRock would allow you to launch at Taidnapum.

Nice report! Even if their seem to be people on this forum who would rather complain about terminology and miss the experience you had. "True outdoorsman". Here's an interesting thought, who cares what the name of the fish is when EVERYONE knows what the hell you're talking about??? Hmmmm. NICE REPORT!!!

Most of us care (as evidenced by most posters on this subject). Proper I.D. of fish is an important part of a report. From the original poster's comments he just wants to be "contraire". Problem is, most of us don't get "the joke". Whatever, trollers are just that. Bob R

@Pacbassman- I was kind of hoping for someone to at least take something away from the actual fishing report. Thanks! :), on the other hand, I was just trying to rustle the feathers of the extremely angry people that I knew would comment... It was worth it, it entertains me how up in arms people get online.

@Thor- Yeah I knew about that one and I don't know why I didn't reserve a spot there.. Also didn't expect the kicker to get stolen, would have taken 15 minutes to motor to the east side. Instead, it took 10 minutes to get from Mossyrock part to the dam.. haha

@Bob R- At least you noticed the joke.

@sunfighter- So if Kokanee are land locked Sockeye, what are you catching in Riffe Lake and American Lake? (Not the Rainbows). Are they just straight up land locked Coho? Not saying that as a smart ass, every person I fish with always calls it something else. lol My girlfriends dad may be upset when I show him the site saying that Kokanee are Sockeye, he may cry. haha

So let me get this straight- you post false i.d.'s on fish to "rustle the feathers of the extremely angry people you know would comment", well, that's pretty warped, why post at all if that is your motivation? I think it''s pretty pathetic to post under the guise of a fishing report just to get your rocks off getting people"extremly angry", if you would bother to read the posts of people you think are "extremly angry" you would find we actually post informative reports that people can use,, not this garbage posted just to get people P.O.ed. With your attitude I can see why the karma caught up with you and you had your motor stolen by someone even lamer then you. After your post i retract my sympathies for you. It'sd not that we don't have a sense of humor, antagonistic garbage like yours just ain't funny. Bob R
