Mattoon pond is located near Ellensburg Wa, off of Umtanum Rd, boardering I-90, Fished for about 2 hours and caught several small Rainbows with a olive green Wollyworm. About the time I was leaving the hatchery truck pulled up and dumped a load of nice looking fish into the lake, fish looked to average about 12-14 inches. Several were caught by other fishermen on the bank near the launch where they had been planted. My fishing buddies, cousin and his friend whom I promised to take fish on spring break each caught a fat Rainbow using black w/ yellow tail rubber jigs. The previous couple of days were spent at Dusty Lk. near Quincy with not a fish to show for the treks into and around the lake.
