Heard Kress Lake had received 77 steelhead in the last week of Nov. so we headed up to give it
a try. It was cold and windy and rainy but we trolled our big fluorescent orange qwikfish around
anyway. We saw several fish jump (big ones-they always seemed to jump 3-4 times in a row).
After about an hour I hooked into one- it immediately jumped and continued to come out of
water 6 times! I had 6lb. test and a barbless hook so I figured on every jump he would be gone.
But we soon landed him- about 30 inches long (about 10lbs?-no scale). We went to shore and
gave it to 2 guys fishing with bobbers on the shore. We trolled for another hour but the cold
finally chased us away. We'll be back! (by the way-they are in Battleground Lake now also)
