I arrived at Kress about 0800. I did not bring my boat this trip
and just fished from shore. Kress has excellent shore access. The
shore was very busy with anglers fishing with bobbers and some dough
bait plunkers. The weather was cloudy, showery, and unusually cold.
I noticed right away lots of surface activity when I arrived.
Including large steelhead doing high acrobatic jumps into the air.
If that don't get the blood pumping nothing will!

To make a long story short, I fished for four and a half hours working
the whole north side of the lake with no luck. I threw everything I had
at 'em and no takers.

It was very entertaining to watch the bald eagles and osprey do some
fun-to-watch fishing. They were knock'em dead. The birds would dive
bomb right into the water and make a huge splash and come out, shaking
it off, with a nice trout in their talons.
