Due to the cooler weather and a little overcast on the 27th, the Hex hatch didn't seem to be as large as we expected. The Hex hatch lasted about 30 minutes and brought some trout to the surface, but none seemed too aggressive. Caddis hatch was fairly good just before dark, but didn't seem to bring a large amount of trout to the surface either. Between two of us, we caught 3 trout in the 1 1/2 hours we were on the water south of the ramp. Two were between 8 and 10 inches. The last one was a heavy 19 inch brown just after dark. All were caught on Hex Dun pattern...we didn't fish any wet flies. You won't be disappointed with this lake...not only are there big fish, but the surroundings are very beautiful!
