Yea ditto to what Alan said and you may consider going out once with a guide like steelheadin360 to help dial it in for future success and enjoyment; but also heard Stevens has been tough lately! One more note is sometimes that lake is an early ( o'dark30) fishery too where the bite can be done before 8am!

I am not an expert on Lk. Stevens Kokes by any stretch. But, I don't think I would get too concerned about your tactics being flawed this early in the year. Yes, we have had some short, nice weather patterns and yes, maybe the fish will turn on for a day or two, but in my opinion, this is way too early to expect a consistent bite. Some guys might have it dialed in this early, but the average guy like myself can not expect to take limits out of that lake this time of year. Keep doing what your doing and try new things, when the water warms up, you will be ahead of me and most others.

LOL sounds like you had a great day fishing, not so great day catching. It happens. My experience you are doing everything right. You dont mention leader length or how far back. Kokes seem to like short leaders so no more than 14-16" back from your flasher, shorter is better. Also when the water is clear and cold 75 to 100 feet back from the boat. As the weather warms (apr, may, june) maybe 45-50 feet back. Winter bite seems to be later in the day. Springtime if you arent there at sunrise you are too late. Soak your shoepeg overnight in cheap tuna in oil with maybe a little garlic scent or kokanee fuel. Pick an area. Start at 25 feet and make multiple passes dropping down 10 feet each pass all the way down. No takers then move to a different area. Start all over. Most important thing is to enjoy the day with your wife.

Hey Tom, I forgot to mention one really important tip in my previous post. Whenever you are handling lures or bait always wear rubber gloves. You can wash lures with Lemon Joy all you want but the second you touch lures or bait with bare hands they are contaminated. Cigarettes, sunscreen, perfume, hand lotion etc, scent will send the critters elsewhere. My catch count has doubled since I started doing this a while back. Also thinking of hitting Stevens Friday. My wife and I were out there yesterday also running tried true setups from one end of lake to the other, marked fish that looked like kokanee on the fish finder and worked on them with out any success.
I think maybe the cooler weather the last couple of nights and the fact that it is still early in the season had a lot to do with it.

We were out wed March 4, 2015 and trolled for 2.5 hrs. Varied speed and did not change lures at all. One flasher, green wedding ring, white shoe peg corn, downrigger 10 feet to 40 feet. nada.....no bites at all, water was flat 46.5 degrees and a chop dame up later.

I was out the 22nd and caught 3 had to go down to 55 and 60 f t also you need to think about glow in the dark spinners I make my own and I do quite well but the water does need to warm up some
