3/24/2015 8:03:00 AMDJ the free launch is off I-5 southbound take exit 122.Then go right at the light and cross over a couple of side streets go left at the two way turn. There is a sign that says public fishing and points both ways? I guess right or north will take you past bills boat house and further up to pay15.00 to launch at north end of lake and south which is the free launch takes you to a traffic circle in front of the national guard camp stay to the right then take the immediate left into the park the launch is great for small boats that do not mind beaching, as there is no dock. However the launch is really quite nice with cement ramps, and nice p-gravel beaching (hope this helps a discover pass is required)

3/24/2015 8:17:00 AMFTLLTF- no he was caught right off the bottom use lite weight gear slip sinker 16 treble hook or small single egg hook the trick is for the fish to not feel the line, this sometimes at first will cause the fish to swallow hooks fairly deeply. Once you get the hang of it you will lip hook over half of them even though they count towards your daily limit I often release fish that we are sure will survive. Hopefully I will catch them again later. I would have released him but he likely wouldn't of survived ,during the fight he got the line caught under his gill plate and was bleeding. He was full of sperm and certainly was a spawner, wished he was unharmed but that's still fishing,My partner released a 24 inch hen unharmed the other day.

3/24/2015 8:20:00 AMHunter, I have caught both, but not out of American lake this was just a rainbow trout male in full spawn color a truly fun fish to catch and even better eating he looked good too.

3/28/2015 11:10:00 AMHow did you find out that chumming was legal in this particular lake? I've just never heard of anyone chumming in any water fresh or salt in this state because of the legality. If there is a rule stating otherwise though, please do tell me because I would like to take advantage of it, provided that it is legal.

3/28/2015 3:25:00 PMCWU- Barrett check the Washington state sport fishing regulations. Chumming is allowed in 19 lakes that I fish in Washington state, including American and Lake Washington. I am not sure about Lake sawyer but the lakes I fish in have very specific rules and regulations and it is very important to read the fishing regulations. They are available at sport co and any other retailer that sells fishing licensee, they are even available on line. It really pays to read these regulations carefully as misinterpretations can be very expensive. I have seen on TV that the Game wardens have even less a sense of humor than I........
