Fished the potholes today. Fishing was epic....we fishing 8am to 2pm and caught 2 nice keepers around 19 in and about 6 minnows you could see thru. Then we decided to hit a spot I've heard about from talkin with other fisherman thru the years and it turned out to be a good choice. We caught 14 fish in the 2.5 hours..the fish were between 15 and 18 inches. Only saw 2 other keeper fish caught all day and everyone we talked to seemed to be struggling. The fish are there...just gotta figure out where.

We'll be out next weekend and hope to have a fraction of that success. Congrats!
It's a big reservoir. We'll search as long as the wind allows. Any further tips you wanna share will go a long way!
This will only be my 2nd time on Potholes - the 4 hour drive is draining - but this trip has been a long time in coming and we're all looking forward to the adventure!

DavidA my advice would be read the reports on here..they tell you what to use and what depth...slow death or worm harness rig...and fish in water between 25 and 35 ft. The mouth of crab creek is where all the boats will be...try there first...if there isn't any fish biting or you don't see people catching fish...you'll have to go lookin.

Thanks Hooked. Almost called off the trip because some weather reports say really bad wind for the whole length of our stay, but given we'd not be able to get out there again for a month, we're giving it a go. We'll give the mouth of Crab Creek a shot if the wind allows and spread out from there it need be. Good luck. I'll report back when we're done.
