4/12/2015 1:15:00 PMVery cool. My brother has a neighbor that uses Kekedas at Long as well. He's told me what you just experienced, perch and orange working well on those fish. A lot shorter travel time for you than Hayden, guess there's a bright side to not making the alarm. Nice report.

The Nine Mile Resort is only a mile from home and about 5 miles to the confluence. Hayden is 55 miles so it is a bit further. I used to buy the Washington park permit that covered both the Discovery pass and the State Park launch fees. It is a hundred bucks so you have to launch 7 times to cover it. I didn't always get my money's worth so I just buy the Discovery pass and pay the $7 each time I launch. They do have free park days though where you don't need the Discovery pass.

4/12/2015 3:11:00 PMI don't know where you are paying a hundred bucks for a Wa. park permit. I only pay $70 for mime here on the west side at a state park. Nice fish.

4/13/2015 8:54:00 PMluvfish - I don't use any hardware with the Kekeda flies. I use 18# leaded line with 50 to 60 feet of fluorocarbon leader. I tie on a small swivel and add about 4' of leader and tie the fly on direct. Bring the boat up to speed, bait the fly with worm or whatever you like and check to see the fly is NOT spinning. A very slow roll is OK....maybe. Troll 2 - 2.5 mph, no bites, troll faster. Three colors is my go to depth (12 to 14' ). I even use a pole with a small reel and only three colors on it with 10# Power Pro for backing. Hope that helps - Alan
