My My and I had a couple of hours of daylight after work so we headed to try some bass fishing for the first time. we headed out on our new Preditor13 kayaks to Eloika. first we tried some weedless frogs My My bought for $6 for 5 on amazon and did nothing!!!! but exercise my shoulder, it was now 8pm sun heading down and we switched it up and went with white spinner bates (pretty sure that's what there called (new to the bass world) and second cast I caught my first ever lmb little guy about 12", now it was still a blast because we are using 4ft ugly sticks with 6lb mono (which we were told 30# braded is what we should have with bigger longer poles for winching the hogs out of the weeds) any hoot we were there to fight fish hopefully, at least gain some experience and talk to the guys who know! casted out a few more times and on the retrieval bam she hit hard and started pullig the kayak what a blast managed to maneuver the yak over the top of her and in the net she went with my my hooten and hollering the whole time. We did not have a scale but it was 24" wow for us it was huge! and most important we had fun! My My caught several around 14" herself ! finished the night with a great conversation with a guy name Charlie who was a real bass fisherman who educated us with his experiences THANK YOU! 2 hours = 5 fish = great times

Very nice! A 24" largemouth is a dandy. Seems to me 21" is usually about 5 lbs so that fish was probably in the 6+ range. It's a bit early for a good frog bite but dont give up on throwing the frog. Always around the pads & in low light situations morning / dusk is your best bet. Might want to get a heavier rod for slop fishing though 6 1/2 - 7' medium heavy action is what I recommend. The 30 lb braid is a good idea as well
