I bought a new transom-mounted trolling motor for my "new" boat and just had to try it out Saturday. We hit the lake about 2:00 and fished until 8:30. The fish were rising/jumping all day. We were dragging Mack's Smiley Blade Flies exclusively. Orange seemed to be the hot ticket. I let my friend use that one (poor planning, I only had one tied up). I had varying degrees of success with pink, yellow and purple. We caught and released a total of 13 planter sized trout (all but one about 14") and managed to catch an 8" small mouth bass on the orange fly. The lake was "bitey" all day. We did have some issues getting hooks into the bites for the first couple hours, but then it was pretty much game on. There were 8-10 boats on the lake throughout the afternoon and all but two clowns were very respectful to the others around them. All-in-all, a good day.
