We fished for Kokanee on Lake Chelan Saturday, Sunday and again on Monday.

The first day we headed straight to the Yacht Club at 0430 hoping to relive our last trip... No such luck. We picked up a few nice Kokanee while we were there but not much happening on the electronics and not many in the net. We picked up after a couple hours and headed over to Rocky Point. We scratched out a couple more and started to find fish on the fish finder. Around noon or so we had enough of the pleasure boaters so we headed off to get ready for the next day.

On Sunday we decided to hit it a little earlier (0400) and stay near the Blue Roof condos. We were both able to limit out by 11am when the pleasure boaters were picking up with a vengeance. We picked up fish on two rigs primarily. The pink hoochie and the red wedding ring. (I used a red Kokabow, she used a red wedding ring, very similar) Depths were all over the place but the later we fished the deeper we ran. We kept going back through schools that we were marking on the big fish finder and hitting doubles and triples. Good day but the fish weren't as big as we were hoping for. (I know...boohoo)

On Monday we decided that we would stick with a 0400 start time and headed to the Yacht club hoping to scratch out a few more larger fish. We were able to pick up a handful of fish right away then it just flat out died. We caught one rainbow then decided to head to the next bay and hit the bottom for a couple of token lakers before heading back to Bellingham. It took us a little while to find the lakers but they eventually came. There were no more Kokanee to be had that morning (two poles out while fishing for lakers). We decided to head back around 0930 or so to get the boat ready for the trip home through holiday traffic.

All in all we had a great trip. We brought home a decent box of fish and a couple cases of wine from our "after fishing" excursions. Probably the last trip for Kokanee this summer on Chelan. What a great weekend!

Great to hear you got into some. We'll be out there in a week and hope to spend a few mornings on the water hunting for kokes!
