Diane, Jeff, Jeremy and I had slept in. We ate a huge breakfast at Wanda's Country Cafe in Ephrata. Launched out of Connelly Park at around 10:00. This was the first time in years for Diane to join me/us on the water. So this was more about family than fishin'. We primarily fished Wally pops in yellow/orange, slow death plain and with multiple colors of beads and smile blades. Chartreuse/orange may have drawn a little bit more attention than the other colors. We fished just west of the park with a dozen or so other boats. First fish in the boat were perch. Then a few smalleye. After half an hour we boated the first keeper Walleye. We moved further West to try along the trees on the south side. We pulled a couple of SMB out of there. The heat was coming on with a vengeance as the day progressed. We ran back to where we started and caught a couple more Walleye.
The surprise catch of the day was when Diane hooked into an entire pole and reel complete with price tag! $14.97 Zebco push button reel. We all got a good laugh as it brought back memories of Jeff raring back to cast way out there and loosing his entire pole years ago. We got off the water around 15:00 and had a good fish fry when we got home. It was a good family outing.

For a guy that is real fish hungry, you really know how to hurt a guy with that last picture. lol Nice fish. Is that Connelly park the launch that is just West of the old airmans beach? Also, is that a public launch? Used to fish up in that area years ago before St Helens blew for crappie. Got lots of big ones back then. Now there are not any. Have always enjoyed your reports. Looks like you live someplace by Highlander golf course in East Wenatchee. I live in west Wenatchee and also fish most of the waters that you report on. Most likely you would see us in my buddy's 16' Harborcraft rather than my 12' Livingston. Hope to meet you some day. Don Snyder

Connelly Park launch is very nice and is public. And yes, it is known as Airman's beach.

Great report. It makes me want to cross mountains and play in the hot sun.

Hey Barry, we had a good time. It was your posting from Moses Lake that inspired the finished product picture!
Hey Ron, C-money is spot on for location. It is a very nice facility too. And yes, I do live out by the Highlander. But, I was here when it was still orchard! It was the first time I was able to keep the fish separate for a taste test. 1st place went to Perch, then 2nd to Walleye and the bass disappeared too.
Hey RiverDog, it almost makes me want to head for the cooler Westside. LOL

Hey livingston12, sorry for the misspelling of your name. And yes, sooner or later we'll cross paths/wakes! What color is your buddies Harborcraft? Andy

Andy it has never been painted so it is still natural aluminum. It has a 50HP Mercury main, no kicker, and a good front electric trolling motor with a gps head. We never have fished the North end. Do plan on being on Moses someplace this Sat. Last year we did very well for perch on the point just North of I-90 bridge. You get them all cooked up and it is hard to be picky about which one is best, just pork out. What boat would we look for you in?

Hey Don, sadly enough I won't be able to get out this weekend as I'm on call! But, when I do get out there, I'm in a faded yellow/tan 18FT tri-hull. It is an I/O with 6hp Evenrude kicker. She is not pretty. But, she has blood in her. LOL Good luck to your buddy! Andy
