Worked Omak today with Jeff and Seb. We went right to the south end and trolled mostly 15 to 40 feet deep over deeper bottoms. Looked for "marks" on the sonar and hit them. A Silver Horde Squid Rig behind the Mack's Lures big Double D Dodger got the big fish and some others. We got fish on mini squids behind small dodgers and naked Silver Horde Kingfisher spoons in Cookies and Cream as well as Chartreuse glow. About 1.5 mph worked best. What an awesome day for numbers and plenty of big fish. Aside from the 10.1 lb big fish, we got another 7 or 8 that were four pounds or better and only a couple under 14". We were the only boat on the entire lake for most of the time. Two other boats showed up later. This on a lake that is 9 MILE long by 4 MILES wide!

Nice fish! Will this lake keep producing through June? Where do you get the permit to fish it and can you use two rods?

Lingking, you can purchase a Colville Tribal permit at the Walmart in Omak. You can also purchase a two-pole endorsement allowing you to fish 2 rods on Omak lake. It's a beautiful place to fish and there is limited pressure givent he requirement for a tribal permit so it's pretty peaceful and quiet too.

In season, the limit has been 3 with not more than one over 18". However, from an alkaline (sp) lake, they taste soapy to me. We generally don't keep any.
