Fished / camped out of Taidnapam Friday and Saturday. Had some friends with 8 yo boys along on Friday so we lost several fish but had a blast. Saturday morning it was just the wife and I as the boy slept in.

First time staying here and first time fishing this lake so a BIG thank you to those that posted very informative reports to clue me in on what to use.

Friday we fished from 9 am - 1 pm. We kept 5 coho in the 15 inch range and 1 rainbow about 14 inches. We lost probably 6 fish and released a hand full of small guys. Switched up tackle pretty consistently until we got the right combo. #1 was red/silver fast limit dodger with green glow Paulina hoochie tipped with Gulp maggots. #2 was green arrow dodger and an off brand hoochie I tied up also with gulp maggots.

I tried night crawlers, shrimp and tuna corn in different combos but nothing seemed to out fish the natural color Gulp maggots.

Saturday wife and I fished from 7am - 10am and brought back 7 niche sized coho. Released about as many little guys. Stayed with the same tackle. Had something snap my wife's rig completely off on one take down. She had what appeared to be a smallish coho (just by how the rod was acting) then it looked like it turn hard and started taking drag. Then POP! and the only thing that came back was line. Lost the fast limit dodger and hoochie all in one go. I know I messed up by not re-tying the rigs from the first day. The young ones would reel, reel, reel and run the knot right in the guides if I wasn't paying attention so that didn't help matters. Just curious if it would have been a muskie?

So I'm not a huge help on location because I'm new to the lake. We launched out of Taidnapam North launch and ran about a mile or so downstream from their. We were fishing in 80-150 feet of water up close to the North shore of the lake. Running downriggers at 50-80 feet.

Really enjoyed our trip and pretty sure it will be a once a year deal at least.

no muskies in the riffe area they on the other side of mossyrock dam it could have been a small mouth bass on that side of the lake or even a bigger land locked salmon. i had a friend years ago catch a decent sized steelhead 4-5 pounds ... its a lake of mystery soo many things in it
