My wife and I set out for an overnight camping and kayak fishing trip to Timothy Lake in the northern Cascades of Oregon. Our target species was Signal Crayfish. Timothy Lake as well as other nearby mountain lakes support healthy populations of large Signal Crayfish. We camped at the Oak Fork campground and dropped our pots in the se. corner of the lake 20-75 yards offshore. In total we captured well over 100 large crayfish and threw back many smaller ones for others to capture at a later date.

This is a great fishery for those looking to diversify their harvest. No angling license is required, their is no minimum size, and you can keep up to 100 crayfish/day/person with a possession limit of 200. For more information on how to explore this fishery please watch the video.

Additionally, the lake supports a diversity of trout and kokanee for those looking to pass the time with some fishing. I decided to take my tenkara rod and sight fish some Brook Trout with dry flies on the upper portions of the Oak Fork of the Clackamas which provided hours of entertainment.

Always a great video/report, etc. Thanks for sharing.
Did you ever find a striped bass in Southern Oregon, as you had hoped to add to your list of caught species?
