I fished Walleye for the first time and Banks Lake for the first time last weekend. It took a couple days to figure things out and fighting the wind but we picked up some good info and ended up landing a bunch of nice fish. The wind and smoke made Sat and Sun tough but Mon and Tue were great! We fished bottom bouncers and slow death hooks with smile blades in multiple colors with white holographic and orange with black stripes working best. With little wind and calm water the fish were coming in fast. My wife had a blast when she hooked onto a 3lb smallmouth on my temple fork Outfitters ultralight pole. We landed several nice smallmouth and nice limits of Walleye Mon and Tue. I could not get a trout to bite to save my life but we came home with plenty of Walleye and we can't to try them. Thanks for all the good info from here.

Where did you fish Monday to get out of the wind. We were there Monday and had a hard time staying in the boat. I'd liked to seen the fight your wife had with that smallmouth their tough on a bass rod. Had walleye for dinner tonight. You'll luv em. Good luck on your next trip.
